So, unbelievably, it’s that time of year again! The holidays are nearly upon us, the weather’s turning and our favourite tradition needs to be upheld – the Maven Collective Marketing Paying It Forward Initiative.
‘Pay it forward’ is an expression for when a person receives an act of kindness and instead of simply accepting the good deed, they do something kind for someone else. This concept is ancient, but something we truly believe in!
We realize we’re extremely lucky to live in the Sea to Sky Corridor, surrounded by incredible nature, fresh air and a high standard of living. Our initiative was created as a way to show our appreciation for our good fortune and to simply give back to those who may need a little support.
Maven Collective Marketing donates to local, national and international organizations who are all endeavouring to make the world a better place for all.
In 2019, six organizations were selected for the annual Maven Collective Marketing Paying It Forward Initiative (one more than last year, woop!). We’ve listed them below and have given a little description about the fantastic work these worthy causes do:
Connexions North Shore Society
This organization aims to “support families and serve children and adults living with intellectual disabilities”. They provide programs and services, which support the development and empowerment of adults, children and families. Furthermore, Connexions North Shore Society advocates for a full range of community-based services to support their participants’ needs.

Fistula is an injury that occurs during childbirth, across the developed world it has largely been eradicated but is still devastating the lives of women in the poorest of countries. The Fistula Foundation aims to “treat obstetric fistula with cost-effective, restorative surgery”. This year, our donation through the Maven Collective Marketing Paying It Forward Initiative sponsored a full Fistula surgery for an individual.

Squamish Helping Hands
Since 2006, Squamish Helping Hands has been providing food and shelter programs within the Sea to Sky communities. Their vision is to end homelessness and hunger in our community. Their great work provides participants with individualized support from nurses, mental health professionals to case workers who assist them in getting back on their feet.
